Department of Human Services
If you are required to report over the Christmas/New Year period please note that the Centrelink offices will be closed on:


  • Monday 25th December
  • Tuesday 26th December
  • Wednesday 27th December
  • Monday 1st January 2018

Your times to report and payment dates may have changed over the holiday period.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
If you are an NDIS participant or supporting someone who receives a NDIS plan, the Midland office will be closed from 5pm on Friday 22nd December 2017 and re-open from 9am Tuesday 2nd of December.


NDIA will have limited opening hours from Wednesday 28th December to Friday 30th of December from 10am to 3pm.
Department of Communities – Housing Authority

The Housing Authority office in Midland will be closed on December 25th, 26th and January 1st 2018. It will remain open the rest of the Christmas/New Year period.


WA NILS will be closed on Friday 22nd December  and open on Tuesday 2nd of January 2018. Please note that any NILS or StepUp loans will be accepted until the end of the year however they may not be processed/approved until the New Year.


Citizens Advice Bureau
The Midland office will be closed from Thursday 14th of December reopen on Monday 15th January 2018.


Christmas Events

Dreambuilders Christmas
Dreambuilders will be hosting a Christmas Day picnic at Carnegie Triangle Park (cnr of Helena Street and Old Great Northern Highway) on 25th of December 2017 from 4pm to 7pm. The day includes a Christmas meal and live music.

Christmas in the Park (Mission Australia)
Run by Mission Australia, the free Christmas lunch will be held at Wellington Square Park, East Perth from 11am to 2pm. Free buses will be running to and from Perth Train Station and Claisebrook Train Station from 9.30am onwards.


Swan Aboriginal Christmas Party

On December 15th 2017 from 10am to 2pm there will be the annual Swan Aboriginal Christmas party held at Ron Jose Oval, Gray Drive in Midvale. The event is organised through Di Ryder with the support of sponsors, local organisations and community members. It is a fun filled day with food, Christmas hampers, visit from Santa and entertainment including traditional dances, jumpy castle and an animal farm.
