MIDLAS Media aims to empower disadvantaged and vulnerable people within our community through building strongly educated and relevant online networks that can provide information to the community and agency clients. We plan to equip and establish working relationships within not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia by providing them with the necessary tools to effectively engage in online education and communication.
MIDLAS Media provides a detailed online communication service, enabling not for profit (NFP) organisation throughout Western Australia to connect with their; clients, other networks, funding bodies and the wider community. MIDLAS has identified the use of social media and online engagement as a significant tool in reaching out and responding to the established and emerging needs of MIDLAS clients. In addition, we expect that social media will play an increasingly integral role in meeting contractual outcomes for funding bodies as funding agreements include social media engagement as a key performance outcome in the future.
Social Media can be defined in a multitude of ways including;
- Any online media platform that provides content for users and also allows users to participate in the creation or development of the content in some way (BlackBox Media)
- A new term for socialising online. (Cubix Dev)
- People having conversations online (Harish Dabasia)
- A method to disseminate information (MIDLAS)
MIDLAS Media provides the following services:
Training: Providing training and education about the use of social media to not for profit’s (NFP’s) throughout Western Australia. These training sessions will run either as; one on one, half and full day workshops as well as 2 day workshops/conference.
Consultation: This service provides customised, personal training and extensive support to individual NFP organisations. This service is ideally suited to an organisation desiring training for their own staff and board members of executive teams. This service is uniquely aimed at providing the information that executive team and board of management require to utilise social media to meet the objectives of their strategic plan.
Content Management: We have (3) packages available to allow an organsiation to utilise Social Media dependable upon their level of involvement and available resource. One of the products available to NFP’s is a ‘set up’ platform establishment product: MIDLAS Media will established up to 4 Social Media platforms for an organisation.
Film Production: This service allows NFP’s to utilise the power of digital story telling to uniquely showcase the incredible work they offer to their communities. Products range from 1 minute videos to year long case studies.
