MIDLAS Legal Service

What we can do:

• Assist persons that are the victim/survivor of family and domestic violence.
   
• Assistance with applications for  Violence Restraining Orders.
   
• Preparation and representation with regard to defended hearings (re VRO’s etc).
   
• Application and assistance with criminal injuries compensation matters.
   
• Advocacy and liaison with Police, Centrelink and other service providers (as they relate to your family and domestic violence circumstances).
   
• Initial assistance/guidance with ancillary matters such as family law (not property), child contact, child support.

• Legal support to existing clients of our other services.
  

• Community Legal Education to groups and the wider community, in relation family and domestic violence.

 Coverage: The MIDLAS Domestic Violence Legal Service provides assistance to victims of family and domestic violence to women who reside in or have fled from a property in the following local Government areas; City of Swan, City of Bassendean, Shire of Mundaring, Shire of Kalamunda. Additionally; we will also take on clients who are living in a Women’s Refuge & require representation in the Midland Court.
